Cat GPS trackers: everyday checks before relying on one.

Daily usefulness depends on comfort, attachment and a manageable charging routine. Our guide is an editorial checklist, not a report of documented own cat-tracking trials. Start by checking the exact product’s fit guidance and use a suitable breakaway collar.

What to check

Expect location behaviour to vary between open ground, dense gardens and indoor hiding places. Look at update timestamps rather than treating every map point as live. A collar that has detached can continue reporting the tracker’s location without the cat.

Before you rely on it

Check the device and holder regularly for wear, and confirm who can access location sharing. Review the full service charge and included period. A good setup supplements identification registration and a sensible missing-cat plan; it cannot guarantee that an animal will always be located.
