Comparing GPS tracker battery life.

Battery claims depend on the test conditions and settings. Frequent live updates, movement, poor reception and extra features can use more power than a low-activity standby scenario. Manufacturer maxima should not be read as a guarantee for every walk or journey.

What to check

Compare charging convenience and the power source as well as capacity. A vehicle-wired unit has different maintenance needs from a small pet tracker. An e-bike tracker may rely on the main battery and a separate backup with its own limitations.

Before you rely on it

After purchase, establish a charging routine using your actual settings and coverage. Enable low-battery notifications where supported and allow a safety margin before long trips. We have no documented own battery measurements; our comparison distinguishes product claims from observed values.
